Damage as a result of an accident involving another vehicle is insured, except where the other vehicle is a stationary vehicle, there is no proof of another vehicle involved or any form of negligence as determined by the car rental company. Theft of a rental vehicle is insured as long as the renter is still in possession of the key. Smaller damages are usually not covered. Ask your rental consultant for more information. Unlimited kilometers on all vehicles are available which is only practical to take if you intend or expect to travel on AVERAGE MORE THAN 300km PER DAY – EVERY SINGLE DAY, if you expect to travel less than 300km on average per day overall, it will most likely be cheaper and more cost effective to choose from the limited mileage offerings and special offers which range between 50km per day to 1000km per week on the different packages we offer. If your trip is cancelled and we have been informed you will get your money back, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, NO EXPLANATION OR EXCUSE needed with NO cancellation fees, NO penalty, NO costs whatsoever. You have the right to cancel your booking and get a full refund at any time – without any pre-conditions, however, once you have taken the vehicle and the rental has been initiated, you will be liable for rental charges, – if u have booked for a week but return after 5 days, you may be charged for the full week or the 5 days- but this will be determined after we do calculations and close your contract, as often the daily rate for 5 days would actually work out more costly and expensive than the weekly special OR the weekly special would include more mileage allowance which once calculated against your actual usage, could work out in your favor – so we will consider the actual usage in light of the rate chosen and if u do cancel your trip or return early, we may – at our discretion, choose to refund you or charge you either pro rata of fully. If you cancel your booking – whether or not you have paid – you will be refunded in full if the rental was not started by you actually physically receiving the car and driving off.
One way rental is when the vehicle is picked up at one branch and dropped off at different branch. Domestic One way rentals occur within the borders of South Africa (e.g. Cape Town to Durban). An International One way rental occurs when a vehicle are returned to a branch outside of South African borders (e.g. South Africa to Namibia). A one-way rental will incur a supplementary fee, as we need to incur the costs of either a driver or trucking service to return the vehicle to the original branch.
There is no limitation as to the number of kilometers that may be driven in the rental car; however, it is important to choose the correct cost option so as to get the most optimum and beneficial cost structure to your advantage.
Distance limit is the set radius that you may travel from Durban – we do not limit distances under normal circumstances – however – there may be special offers and special discounted rates we offer from time to time which may have such limitations or restrictions which will be clearly noted on your contract or receipt.
Usually crossing any of the borders have legal and technical implications, so it’s necessary to consult with us BEFORE you attempt to leave the borders to save yourself any inconvenience at the border posts.

A foreign driver’s license is accepted as long as it is printed in English and has a photo on it. An International driver’s license is only required if the foreign driver’s license in not in English or does not have a picture on it. We therefore advise all our international clients to have an international driver’s license.
Most of our vehicles are 1 year old models. Some special vehicles are can be 2 – 3 year old vehicles. Please read the terms and conditions for more information. Vehicles are in good condition as the rental companies go out of their way to ensure that all customers enjoy the same satisfied service.
Rentals are charged in periods from the date and time of checkout to 11am the next day or the day of return – similar to a hotel where you can book in at any time on the present day and by 11 am the next morning your stay is completed. Similarly, you can take a car at 8 am today and you will return at 11 am tomorrow and have the benefit of more than 24 hours. If you take the car at 2pm today and return at 11 am tomorrow you will have less than 24 hours, A one day minimum rental applies, and should you need to return the car later than 11am, please discuss this with our friendly and helpful consultants so that we may find a suitable solution to save you from incurring unnecessary costs.
We at VRentals need to be informed of any intent to extend the rental period with no less than 48 hours notice. Failure to comply with this procedure will result in renter driving the vehicle without Collision Damage Waiver and/or Theft Protection and without lawful permission.
All major credit cards (Visa, and Master Card) are accepted for any rental. Cash deposits are accepted as well, so too are debit, savings and cheque cards. South African debit and cheque cards are also accepted for specific vehicle groups only. Ask your consultant for more information.
The minimum age is 18 years, but they must have a drivers license for at least 2 years (mainly applicable for Americans) and only on certain vehicle groups allowed. Usually a young driver fee will apply for under 23 years old, depending on car group (+/- R 100 per day) and the excesses vary. Whilst driving, clients are required to have their driver’s license in their possession at all times.
An authorization/security deposit is an amount held/blocked your credit card on initiation of the rental. This amount varies, depending on your vehicle excess and insurance. When the vehicle is returned, the authorization will be cancelled. There may be a delay with the process depending on your bank.
A company credit card can be accepted if the renter’s name appears on the card. No other company employee may produce such a credit card for car rental

Each vehicle leaves with a full tank and the renter pays for refueling on return. Each vehicle is refueled on termination regardless of whether or not the fuel gauge indicates that the vehicle is full. You are not charged any fuel service fee, or re-fuel surcharge or any hidden costs; you only pay for the actual fuel filled into your car.
Collision Damage Waiver is an optional service that relieves the customer of responsibility for any damage to the vehicle. If declined, the customer will be responsible for any costs incurred. Please always read your terms and conditions carefully for further information.
Personal Accident Insurance covers the renter and passengers if they have an accident during the rental as a driver or passenger. It covers accidental death, some medical expenses and assistance and rescue, we do not provide any such insurance and you may take this cover entirely on your own with your choice of broker or insurance company
We can book a particular group of vehicle (e.g. Group B) but we are unable to guarantee a specific vehicle. You can however request a specific vehicle but it is never guaranteed.
Standard Cover is the minimum insurance cover required to rent a vehicle. There will be an excess payable in case of theft or damage. Super Cover is an insurance cover you can choose with a lesser excess payable. **Executive Cover Insurance: It covers for accident with another vehicle and for theft of the vehicle. There is no excess liability but there is a security deposit amount which is refundable at the end of the hire. In case of any damages to the vehicle or theft of the vehicle, the client is liable for the administration fee. (NB: Full investigation is done in the event of theft or damages to our vehicle, to assure no negligent acts). Also windscreen, tyres and under-carriage damage is not covered by this insurance. Optional insurance cover may be offered to cover glass and tyre damage. We at VRentals have a zero excess and zero liability and zero administration fee system – without hidden clauses or fine print technicality – our terms and conditions are very simple and clear and is provided to your on the contract you sign in full comprehensive detail.
In the event of any theft or damage to the vehicle (damage of any kind, big or small), this will need to be reported to the police and a case number needs to be obtained, usually within 24hours… V Rentals needs to be notified as well. Failure to do so will have an adverse effect and it is therefore imperative that you follow the proper procedure to avoid any confusion or unnecessary delays. It is important to take special note of the detailed procedure which our service advisors are able to explain to you.
Yes you may do so, sometimes however, we have certain special offers which are linked to early payment, and these special discounted rates only apply if payment is made in full either 7 days or 21 days in advance, which is ultimately to your advantage as you will benefit from much lower costs, and you may want to take advantage of this.
You can request a certain colour, however we cannot guarantee this as it depends on the day of pick-up what vehicle and in what colour is available. Most rental vehicles are white in colour.
